Ryan Schone

Ryan developed and now coordinates an initiative known as the Milwaukee Urban Discovery Farm. Through the UW-Extension Milwaukee County, this program provides small-scale farmers land access along with technical and educational resources for selling product while researching the economic viability and social capital of urban agriculture. He is also actively engaged in education and capacity building around local food systems, community development and the food entrepreneurship through a variety of public and private sector collaborations. Such notable engagements include being a co-founder of the Walker’s Point Garden of Arts & Education, Lead Agriculturalist for the Cream City Gardens jobs training program, co-collaborator of Pete's Community Farm & Market, and a committee member of the Food Economic Development Network (FEDN) promoting the development of a Food Hub in the Milwaukee region.
