Michelle Miller

I work on sustainable agriculture research and live on Madison’s South Side. I am particularly interested in how cities relate with rural people to get food. I come from a long-line of food rebel rousers. My mom was a farmer organizer and worked on rural leadership issues. My dad was a high school history teacher and organized the teachers union across the state. We did a lot of marching, leafleting, and political discussion as kids, and learned to set up a cooperative at the WFU summer camp. I studied with an Ojibwe elder about traditional medicines and am interested in native plants.
