Kyle Koch

At a young age I became convinced that malnutrition and environmental degradation were the two most significant challenges facing the world today. Agriculture seemed like an avenue to address both of these issues. As a result, I decided to study agronomy at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In 2013 I graduated with a Bachelors of Science in agronomy. Upon graduating from UW-Madison, I was hired as an intern at Hunger Task Force's Farm and Fish Hatchery and the following season was hired full time as a Farm Hand. At the Farm I assist in tillage, planting, maintenance and harvesting of crops. This entails operating farm equipment and leading volunteer groups. Additionally, I am the Farm's beekeeper.

Hunger Task Force believes that every person has a right to adequate food obtained with dignity. We work to prevent hunger and malnutrition by providing food to people in need today. Our food bank delivers to a local network of approximately 80 pantries, soup kitchens and homeless shelters in Milwaukee county, completely free of charge. Additionally, through our advocacy efforts, we promote social policies to achieve a hunger free community tomorrow. The Farm in Franklin grows a large variety of crops which are delivered free of charge into our network, providing a source of fresh, seasonal, nutrient dense produce to recipients of food assistance.
